My name is Melanie Murray, the founder and operator of NextStep. With over 20 years of experience as a Commercial Banker, I’ve dedicated my career to helping companies reach their financial goals through professionalism, confidentiality, and a deep understanding of business dynamics.

My passion for helping people extends far beyond the boardroom and extends deeply into my personal life. I was the trusted advocate for my own parents when they transitioned from their 3,800 sq. ft. home on the mainland to new living arrangements on Vancouver Island. My father, in the late stages of dementia, required specialized care, and my mother was overwhelmed by the emotional and logistical challenges of the move. Supporting them through this complex and stressful process opened my eyes to the profound need for services that cater specifically to seniors and their families during such pivotal times.

This experience drove me to establish NextStep, where our mission is to provide the compassionate support and expert guidance that cater to seniors who may not have the support that they need – whether their children and/or family members are busy with their own careers, living far away, or simply unable to provide the hands-on assistance required.
